Sustainability
Sustainability Commitments
Protecting Today, Sustaining Tomorrow, Empowering Communities
At Tata Steel Minerals Canada, sustainability is more than a goal; it's a guiding principle in every aspect of our operations.
We are committed to responsible mining practices that safeguard the environment, respect Indigenous rights, and contribute to long-term community development
Environment
Protecting the Land,
Preserving the Future
We believe that mining and environmental protection must go hand in hand. With operations in environmentally sensitive areas of Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador, protecting the environment and contributing to the sustainable development of Canada's resources are key to our environmental objectives.
Our environmental team focuses on the complete lifecycle of mining operations to ensure that environmental impacts on water, air, soil, wildlife, and vegetation are minimized for all phases of the project. We are committed to employing best practices that promote water stewardship, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation.
From permitting and assessments, baseline studies, environmental monitoring, daily compliance inspections, rehabilitation and closure planning, our work ensures that we operate not only within regulatory frameworks but with a proactive approach to continuous environmental compliance, improvement and accountability.
